Techkidz Summer Camp Information

Each Techkidz programme has been designed by our expert team. The aim of the summer camp is to instill and improve children’s computer skills as well as introducing them to computational thinking and coding. While we focus on technical skills It’s also about their personal development and most of all it’s about making friends and of course, having fun! Over the course of the week your child we get to try a wide range of technology related activities (please note that activities may vary slightly from venue to venue however our core offering is the same in every venue and we develop our curriculum each year to benefit returning campers)

Our camps run Monday to Friday. The only exception to this is after a bank holiday weekend, when the camp runs from Tuesday to Saturday. There is a morning and evening timeslot, however times may vary depending on venue so please check your email for exact times.

Registration:

Your child will be assigned to a group before the camp begins, you will receive this information via email the week before the camp commences. Registration will take place before the start of camp on Monday (the registration time will be available in your information email the week prior to the camp); at this stage you should drop your child off at their prescribed group. Please note: It is not possible to change groups on the morning of the camp.

Daily Camp Schedule:

Drop-Off

Each day children should arrive to the camp venue circa 10 minutes before the camp is due to start, where they will be met by their class teacher. The teachers will have signs with the group Letter shown to avoid confusion. Our camp manager will be on hand to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

Breaks

Children will have one 15-minute break during the day to get some fresh air (weather permitting) and have a snack should they wish. We recommend children bring a small packed lunch/snack.  Please note that peanuts or products with peanuts are not allowed as we have a number of children attending with peanut allergies.

Going Home

Parents should collect their children at the drop-off/collection point at the advertised end of day time. If your children are walking home from camp, this has to be confirmed in writing (email/letter) by a parent or guardian with our office and we will pass this information onto our camp manager. This measure is in place to ensure the safety of your children so we ask that you please adhere to the above guidlines in these circumstances.

Mobile Phones:

Children should not bring mobile phones to camp. Should they require them after camp, they must remain powered off in their bags. We are not responsible for lost or damaged phones.

Cancellation Policy:

All booking deposits of €50 are non-refundable. You will receive a refund on any additional balance paid if you cancel up to 10 days before the camp commences. After 10 days prior to the camp has passed no refund will be made.

Campers may transfer to an alternative week without loss of the deposit subject to availability. Once you commence the Camp, there is no refund of camp fees. The only exception to the above cancellation policy is, if Techkidz has to cancel a camp for any reason, including to comply with Public Health Guidelines. In these circumstances a full refund will be given. Any participant whose conduct is deemed, by the camp manager, to be detrimental to the best interest of the programme will be dismissed and no refund will be made.

My Child has Attended the camp before?

For children that have done the Camp before there will be a mixture of old and new activities. Children love to do some of the old favourites and repetition is a very important part of learning.  As the children get older, we introduce extra elements to the activities to challenge and help them achieve higher standards. The progression and skill retention is always higher in children who attend for a number of years as they continue to build upon and solidify core skills.

USB Sticks

If your child wants to bring home their work each day they are welcome to bring a USB stick with them. We can also put on some extra notes and hand outs for the camp. We will have Techkidz branded USB stick for sale at €10 if your child would like one.
